we would also like to say that we will be playing the monolith festival

even more importantly we would like to welcome jason dietz on bass

http://youtube.com/watch?v=P86SASX4USw
he is a very tall capricorn and always smiling and patient (which a
welcomed amendment to our ever-somber & perfectionist attitudes)

and last but not least, salt is being released in japan on july 25th on
imperial records. we are very very excited about this and hope to be
promoting the record over there soon.

06.29.07

oh me.

our may 11th show in cincinnati at the mad hatter has been cancelled.
seems we got bumped by a big metal show. but third time's a charm -
we're booked to play the southgate house on july 13th. i hear it's a theory
8 party complete with apollo up and de novo dahl. more details to come.

it's last minute but.....this saturday, may 12th we will be playing at
the mercy lounge in nashville opening for adult. this will be a "forget
cassettes dissected" show where doni and i play very pretty, stripped
down versions of our songs. we've done a bundle of these shows so far
and it's going well. we're shushing the rock dinosaur. but not forever.
the show is at 9pm and is $8.

we are leaving for austin next week to record demos for the new record
with long time friend and producer mike mccarthy.

and last but not least, doni and i will be playing in a pixies cover
band on may 31st at the basement with bobby bare jr. and leah bergman.
fun, fun, fun.

that's some news in bulk.
beth

05.09.07

hello all-
it's very sad to say but we will not be touring the west coast this month - it has been postponed til summer. we are going to be making up some of the shows in may but the bulk will be re-booked for this summer. there is so much to get done this month. please check back for updates on shows and such - again this is with regret - but we will see you very soon. we're sorry for any confusion.

Forget Cassettes Signs to One Little Indian/Tangled Up & Tours Europe with Trail of Dead

Beth Cameron, performing as Forget Cassettes, finalized a European record deal with One Little Indian Records and Tangled Up Recordings, home of artists such as Bjork, The Twilight Singers and The Pernice Brothers. One Little Indian/Tangled Up will be re-releasing the album Salt, originally released in the United States by theory 8 records, on March 5th.

To coincide with the album release, Forget Cassettes will be touring Europe in February and March with Interscope recording artist, And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead. The band will be opening more than 25 dates beginning in Birmingham England and ending in Athens Greece. This will be the second time Forget Cassettes has toured with Trail of Dead, the first being in 2004 in the United States.

Due to Beth's ever-evolving musical endeavors she has decided to reorganize the Forget Cassettes line-up and will be touring Europe as a 2-piece with Doni Schroader who has spent the last two years recording and touring with Trail of Dead. Bassist Jay Phillips is focusing more time on his band, Apollo Up! and drummer Aaron Ford will be touring with Bobby Bare, Jr.

Also changing for Forget Cassettes will be Beth Cameron's relationship with her current label, theory 8 records. Beth will now be officially joining theory 8's management branch of the company, with Aaron Hartley acting as her full time manager. She will be joining two other acts on the management's roster, De Novo Dahl and Umbrella Tree.

01.23.07

hello all-

we will be playing tomorrow at the end. i think the show was billed as just me playing, but doni is coming along as well.
we are opening the show for a poet named revolver and dogme (they are from chicago).
so that means we will play at 10.
and we are only bringing a select gaggle of instruments with us.
and we can't find the drums.

i figured since there is such a big rock show happening at the cannery the same night (features, bang bang bang, autovaughn) it would be nice to let the piano do the rockin'.

hope to see you.

We just want to say that although various publications have been listing our Cincinnati show at Southgate as being FREE, it is not. We wish it could be but, well, come on. The show is $7.
However, we promise it will be worth it.

If you are currently on our mailing list and have not received an email from us in the past month or two please sign up again (if you want to be updated on our whereabouts and what nots)... we had to shift our mailing list to a new host and seem to have lost a lot of people in the process. once you sign up again you will be sent an email asking you to verify that you, in fact, really want to be on our mailing list.
phew.

02.16.06

hello again..

well, we have just about finished mixing the new record and we made it to the other side alive..we're all breathing at least, though no longer responsive to stimuli. we have a lot of things happening so i will get to the point... now.

the new record has been titled "salt". the release date is set for AUGUST 8TH. there will be 9 tracks and will be distributed through sony/emergentRED. we will be releasing a 3-song maxi-single titled "the catch" on MAY 2ND. the single will include one song from the record and 2 b-sides. this will be a limited pressing and only available at live shows and online. nick butcher will be doing the artwork for both (he did the artwork on the last record). you should check out his stuff because he's amazing.

we are also going to be doing spots of shows all around from now until then...but will unfurl our full touring capacity late summer/early fall in support of the new record. we will have all new forget cassettes stuff for sale and will also be shooting a video this summer.

well, anyway, we hope to see you out.
we are still booking and confirming shows so check back for updates.

we also want to say 'THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU' to michael eades, our web guy/hero. he's the shit!

you're the shit too!
